Description

Study of computer concepts and applications as used in business today. Course is designed to provide students with a general understanding of computer hardware and software and the facility to use this knowledge in the creation and management of useful information. Topics include history of the computer, impact of technology on society, communications and networks, digital media technology, computer security, ethics and privacy, fundamentals of computer problem solving, operating systems and programming. Applications used include Windows, Internet browser/HTML, word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and presentation software. Basic computer literacy is recommended for students entering the course.
