Description

In this 75 hour course students will learn and obtain the basic level of knowledge and the demonstration and proficiency in skills to provide safe, effective resident care in a nursing facility that provides care for the elderly or chronically ill person. This course requires passing the background check, a minimum of 30 hours classroom, 15 hours lab and 30 hours clinical experience. Students will incur additional costs for obtaining up to date immunizations, two step TB tests, Mandatory Reporter Training of Dependent Adult Abuse, background check, clinical uniform, shoes, watch with a second hand, book, workbook, transportation to lab/clinical and state competency exams for the Nurse Aide Registry. Lab and clinical will take place outside of the regular class schedule and will occur on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and in a variety of locations.
